The starting point of this work was a melodic theme conceived in a jazzy style. My modal language explores, in this piece, the vivacity of the waltz, episodic melodies, harmonic blocks shared by both instruments, and solo passages intended to highlight a broader palette of sonic colors. This piece is my personal homage to the Belle Époque.
Le point de départ de cette œuvre a été un motif mélodique que j’ai conçu à la manière de la musique de jazz. Mon langage modal explore, dans ces pages, la vitalité de la valse, les mélodies épisodiques, les blocs harmoniques soutenus par les deux instruments, ainsi que des moments de solitude qui révèlent les couleurs sonores. Cette pièce est un hommage personnel à la Belle Époque.
