Out of the many guitarist-composers throughout time, the guitar music of Barrios is arguably some of the most well-written. Originally for solo guitar, Vals Op. 8, No. 3 is reimagined here to accommodate two guitar players for a broader texture, a dash of creative melodic liberties and a bit of reharmonization, all without straying too far from the composer’s original intent. This duet was arranged for and inspired by guitarists, Sophie Reel and Marina De La Cruz-Medrano.
