Full of pleasure
With a high school concert band of 14 students, I am loving Flex-Band arrangements--especially when we get to play great old tunes like this one. No part-re-writing with just five parts, no missing parts, and a lot more stability for small bands finally able to have more than one on a part. The arrangement is fairly simple and more accessible than the original, but you will need a good horse or two for Part 1--the solo line plus counter melodies, sixteenth notes, accidentals. If you are unfamiliar with the original, Valdres is a tuneful march that leaves one feeling peaceful and good.
