The horns and the rhythm section trade fours over a half-time shuffle groove to kick off the chart. This flows naturally into a hip swinging section over minor changes. The original groove returns and gives the full band a chance to wail. "Urban Angels" is a great chart to help teach your band to "internalize the time" while they're digging into music with real attitude. Written solos are included for tenor saxophone and Trumpet, but the easy changes in the solo section will help encourage students to improvise.
