But in 1990, the song once again catapulted to fame when that recording was featured in the blockbuster film "Ghost." Over the years "Unchained Melody" has been covered by countless artists, but when it was first composed it was an instrumental theme for the 1955 prison film titled "Unchained." (hence, the title).
