Despite being a guitarist, I had never composed anything for this instrument before. I believe that we always demand a lot from ourselves when we decide to compose for our root instrument, and perhaps that is why I had never allowed myself to undertake such an endeavor before. Uma Singela Canção Para Violão [A Simple Song for the Guitar] was born as my first attempt to create something for my cousin instrument, allowing me to create without great demands or elaborate techniques, but allowing melodies to emerge, where the only aesthetic criterion was my common sense.
