A Gift for Oboe Players
Initially written as a wedding gift for a friend, this work is now a gift for any oboe player looking for a charming, audience-friendly piece with a contemporary sound. It has some brief rhythmic challenges for the two performers, and requires a quick articulation and beautiful sense of legato line for the oboist. Trifle Two features the poignant, songful melody typically associated with the oboe, but the vivacious and celebratory character of the two outer movements will spark up any recital program.
