"Turkish March" (Marcia alla Turca) is a march theme written by Beethoven for his 1809 Six Variations Op.76 for piano. It is classic Beethoven. Other versions of this song have been penned by Liszt, Rubenstein and Rachmaninoff; and it was also included in a play "The Ruins of Athens" by August Kotzebue. The composition suggests the passing by of a procession or a parade - and the dynamics grow as the procession gets closer and then all fades away as the parade passes.
