This piece was originally a work to show off the trumpet stop on an organ. That brilliant sound has been replaced by the real instrument in this arrangement for 2 trumpets and organ. There is a slow introduction before the actual Voluntary in which the trumpets enter with their fanfare-like themes.

Wrong Score -- apparantly a PUBLISHER Error
The physical characteristics of the music was FIRST/WORLD CLASS -- and the Customer Service Followup was as well .........h/ever there was a MAJOR DEFECT in that the horn score was NOT keyed correctly for the Organ part..........in the folio is mentioned that the Organ part comes in (2) diff. keys (( which it did not )) had it, this would have worked for us. M/N Customer Service tried really hard to resolve this -- to no avail. They get a 10 for their efforts, but -- unfortunately -- we had to SCRUB this selection as part of our Preparation For Worship/Preludial Music on Easter Day due to the defect. A refund was provided as well.
