This set of pieces was inspired by three separate encounters with fiddle music and beautiful scenery in the Shenandoah River Valley. There is narration in the recordings that tells the sweet story of how a young couple meet. True Love's Promenade is in 12/8 time and is very rhythmic. There are passages of hand crossing with a bass line of root-fifth-root. This is the dance where the two young people finally make it known to their families that they are more than mere friends!
