This work opens with a bold and brief Fanfare of major and minor triads above a timpani-like figure in the pedals. The Arioso that follows is a ternary design with a cantabile melody accompanied by seventh and ninth chords. The closing stately Trumpet Rondo follows the pattern of an English trumpet tune with an 8-measure reed solo followed by the tune in an ensemble setting. This Triptych may be used as a three-part organ solo, or any section can stand alone in recital or service.

Great Piece
The arioso is a beautiful, flowing piece for a great prelude or offertory. Lush harmonies and beautiful solo melody. The Trumpet Rondo is fantastic. Play it on a big Trompette en Chamade. Very regal and statement. Watch those 32nd notes, don't turn them into 16th notes! I knew Ron when I lived in Memphis, TN. Great composer and organist.
