These two trios of six were published originally in two groups of three by Sieber and by Andre around 1795/1796. The title of the original edition reads "Trois TRIOS Concertants pour Flute, Clarinette et Basson par F. DEVIENNE 11". They were also published in an arrangement for flute, violin and cello. The source document for this edition is a copy of the original publication in the Kungliga Musikaliska Akademiens Bibliotek in Stockholm.

Awkward page turns,
but that's about the only quibble. Needs a light hand with interpretation to bring out the inherent lyrical character of the work.The lines are clearly printed and easy to read. Rated it into the advanced category instead of just intermediate, as the second half requires a deft interweaving of the three players, which can be a challenge for those younger or with less ensemble playing experience.
