Michael Kibbe writes, "This work was written in 1982 when I was a member of the North Wind Quintet, based in Los Angeles. It is one of several works written for some of the less common combinations of wind instruments. It was premiered in a live radio broadcast in June of 1984 by Don Ransom, Louise MacGillivray and Jenice Rosen.".
