Published by Adam Michael White (A0.1801832).Here is my arrangement of Joe Hisaishi's "Town with an Ocean View" from the 1989 animated film, Kiki's Delivery Service, made by Studio Ghibli and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. As is the case with all of my arrangements of Joe Hisaishi's music, I tried to be as faithful to his concert versions of this piece while also adding my usual "musical quirk" of passing the melodic parts to as many different sections as possible. It is important to note that every string section has multiple instances of divisi, allowing for some beatiful moments of rich harmonies and dense string textures, so it is recommended that, if you are to perform this piece, you have at least 4 first violins, 4 second violins, 4 violas, 4 cellos, and 2 basses. Other than that, I think an Advanced Intermediate group of players would find this piece enjoyable to play, with its occasional complex rhythms and shifting offering just enough challenge to keep things interesting.
