Toward Transylvania – March is a Hungarian concert march built upon the melody known both as Erdély felé (Towards Transylvania) and Páros csillag nincs már többé az égen (The Twin Star No Longer Shines in the Sky), composed by Ráday László to a text by Nádor József. The song, widely circulated in the first half of the 20th century, became closely associated with Hungarian national sentiment and public performance traditions.

In the present march form, the well-known melody appears in the Trio section, where its expressive, cantabile character contrasts with the firm and rhythmically defined opening strains. The introductory and first strain material, conceived specifically for the march version, establish a resolute, forward-moving atmosphere in keeping with traditional European march writing.

Structured according to classical march form, the work features a clearly defined Trio followed by a written Da Capo return, restoring the energetic opening material and providing formal symmetry. The combination of lyrical Hungarian song style and disciplined march construction results in a work that balances emotional expression with ceremonial clarity.

This arrangement by Adrian Erik Horvath presents the historical melody in a modern concert band setting, preserving its stylistic character while shaping it into a cohesive and performable march form.
