Whenever organ players use the expression "Tool Up" they talk about enhancing the sounds of their different registers. This two-part piece tools up by introducing a selection of percussion instruments, played by two percussionists and divided up into tuned and untuned instruments.

Das Wortspiel "Tool Up" (Orgel = Handwerksgeschirr = Tool) heißt nichts anderes, als die Klänge der verschiedenen Orgelregister aufrüsten; in diesem zweisätzigen Werk geschieht dies mittels einer Auswahl von Schlagzeug-Instrumenten, gespielt von zwei Schlagzeugern und aufgeteilt in gestimmte und ungestimmte Instrumente.
