Belgian organist and composer Flor Peeters (1903-1986) composed his TOCCATA, FUGUE AND HYMN ON AVE MARIS STELLA, Op. 28 in 1933, as a compliment to Charles Tournemire, who had dedicated one of his own works to Peeters two years previous. Based on the ancient Gregorian theme Hymn to the Blessed Virgin Ave Maris Stella, Peeters later revised the work in 1963. Reprint edition.
