One of the best intermediate flashy pieces.
This little corker by Dubois makes a superb postlude. It is both overlong (7 minutes) and incongruous as a postlude when played in full - the languid middle section is lovely, but has no place in a piece titled Toccata - but if you take it from the return of the main theme 2/3 of the way through (and repeat the opening section, as at the beginning) it is three and a half minutes of sheer delight for organist and listener both. As for difficulty, it falls into the narrow crack between intermediate and intermediate advanced. It is considerably harder than, say, Marcello's Psalm 19, but considerably easier than, say, the Final of Vierne's Symphony #1. Extra effort devoted to precise fingering in the learning stage is time well spent. A can't miss piece - everyone loves it!
