Perhaps one of the most famous pieces of music ever written, the Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by Bach is masterfully arranged for concert band by Ryan Nowlin. Written for “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, Mr. Nowlin orchestrates each phrase to evoke the sonorities of the pipe organ. The score includes an analysis of the composition itself and of some of the techniques used in this arrangement. This edition remains true to Mr. Nowlin’s original arrangement for “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. Cues have been provided so that ensembles without the full instrumentation may have a successful performance.
