This musical setting of a German poem by an unknown poet (English translation by Linda Godry) too has won second prize at the prestigious composition competition of the ChorVerband NRW in 2012, as has the musical setting of the same text for female choir by Alwin M. Schronen (product number C55504).In a mostly syllabic setting, the composer takes up the images of the poem and expresses them through musical means. As a result, the listener hears the dense and deeply felt devotion of the singing self to the one opposite to him, the – unattainable – moon.
