“To Sacha” is music I composed for Symphony Orchestra. I dedicate it to my nephew, Sacha. The piece begins with a main theme introduced on the piano, which is then inverted and accompanied by arpeggios on the harp. This initial section is followed by a counterpoint featuring the inverted theme played by the celesta, while the retrograded theme is played by the piano with the arpeggios now on the violas. A quiet and mysterious passage ensues, with the clarinet doubled by the flute. The music then reaches its climax, with the entire orchestra and choir playing together. The piece concludes quietly with a final restatement of the main theme on the piano. I hope you enjoy it.
