Composed by Chris Esdaile. This edition: pdf. 21st Century, A Cappella, Multicultural, Religious, Sacred, World. 4 pages. Chris Esdaile #1037748. Published by Chris Esdaile (A0.1458813).

A reflective, tender and moving unaccompanied setting for SATB (with some part splitting, and short sop/tenor solos) of words by Iranian Islamic mystic, al-Hallaj (858-922), recounting his quest across water, desert and mountains for an intimate relationship with God. Whilst the words come from an Islamic source, they could easily be used in Christian or other religious settings.

The music is by Chris Esdaile (2023). It was first performed by the High Holborn Chamber Choir at St George's, Bloomsbury, London on 8 June 2024.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
