Dit dorp beheerst het beeld van de westoever van het Gardameer, waar het uitziet op de berg Monte Baldo aan de overzijde.
Het is een druk bezocht vakantieoord en middelpunt voor het maken van uitstapjes in de omgeving.
De betoverende locatie en het overweldigend natuurschoon inspireerden de componist tot een zeer beeldende muzikale schildering van Tignale en haar omgeving.
