“Gyallu” is widely regarded as the national anthem of Tibet and is used by the Central Tibetan Administration in exile. The title is commonly translated as “The Royal Song” or “National Anthem.”
This arrangement presents the anthem in a respectful concert setting, suitable for cultural programmes, anthem collections, educational performances, and events connected with Tibetan identity and heritage.
The anthem’s origins are not fully documented. Some accounts suggest that a Tibetan state anthem was in use around 1949–1950, while others state that the present anthem was formally presented to the 14th Dalai Lama in exile in 1960. Today, “Gyallu” remains an important patriotic song for Tibetans and the Tibetan diaspora.
Ideal for: cultural events, international anthem programmes, educational concerts, ceremonial occasions, and world music performances.
