Joseph Parry (1841 – 1903) was a Welsh composer and first professor of music at Aberystwyth University, and later at Cardiff University. In some ways, he is the Father of Welsh classical composition. He is best known as the composer of Myfanwy and the hymn tune Aberystwyth. This edition is the first modern performing edition conforming to current practice. A number of transposition and other errors have been corrected.
