The second movement from a collection of three pieces for piano. A nocturne, the piece presents a melancholy mood that is also a tinge unsettling and slightly creepy, depicting the shadowy figures that one might encoutner on a midnight stroll. The piece frequently moves in an out of G minor and C minor keys and at times, uses notes that just don't belong.. the piece concludes with an afterthought that leaves the piece feeling more unresolved than it was before.
