During Lent, many churches do not allow the organ to play for the services. This collection of three musical meditations helps to fill that void with simplistic, wistful piano pieces.*
As with my organ pieces for Advent, these pieces are all 2 minutes or less; perfect for short processionals, recessionals, and/or during the service when a soft, short interlude is required. The pieces are both simplistic and meditative; they are not composed to draw attention to themselves, but rather to enhance a Lenten, contemplative mindset.
*(Somewhat of an exception to this description is in the bonus piece, "Thirst" with an added advanced Cadenza, which shows the soul in confusion and torment of thirst before fulfillment in The Lord. This version of "Thirst" could also serve as a dramatic Good Friday piece, a reintroduction and enhancement of the shorter version heard earlier in Lent.)
