Three jazz vibraphone pieces of distinct character. Allowing for some improvisation, these pieces are a must for a vibe player looking for a tonally pleasing recital piece.

Three Brothers is a set of three jazz vibraphone pieces each dedicated to one of J.C. Combs' three sons. The first piece, Chi-Town Monk, is inspired by Thelonious Monk and is based primarily on the whole tone scale. The second piece, Goldengate Park, is a jazz ballad with chord symbols throughout if the performer wants to improvise or modify any parts of it. The third and final piece, Nashville Vibe, is meant to emulate country music on the vibraphone. There is even one portion of the piece that has the performer scrape the resonators as if playing a washboard part. Pedal and mallet dampening are indicated throughout. You can hear a recording of Three Brothers on J.C. Combs CD, 'Alone At Last!-.
