Composed by Bruce Neswick. Cathedral/Parish. Choral, Easter, Epiphany, General. Octavo. Paraclete Press #9627. Published by Paraclete Press (PL.9627).
In this anthem of contemplation and triumph, Bruce Neswick vividly expresses the varying moods of his chosen texts (taken from Isaiah, I John, and Psalms 139 and 119). A gentle accompaniment to the words "Thou wilt keep him" opens the work, while the second section is set in a recitative-like style at the words "The darkness is no darkness with Thee". The tempo and rhythmic drive increase to underscore the triumphal text "and it shall praise Thee," while the workconcludes quietly with the opening words and music. Typical of Mr. Neswick's style is the colorful organ accompaniment which supports the emotional contrasts of the text. "Thou wilt keep Him in Perfect Peace" would be an especially appropriate anthem for the Easter season.
