Those Were the Days is a version of a traditional Russian song, Dorogoi Dlinnoyu (The Long Road). This version is gentler than the Russian one, but still has elements of the Russian tradition - slow soulful verses, and choruses which start slowly and increase in tempo. The speed of the music at the end of the choruses is really up to the conductor and how fast it can be sung.This arrangement is for SSA choir, and has some pretty Russian-style harmonies. I have other versions available - a far simpler SA version and also a fairly simple version in Russian which is more authentic. This can be found under "Dorogoi Dlinnoyu (The Long Road)".
