The Golden Globe winning song ‘This is Me’ has become one of the most popular songs of the past few years. Taken from the hugely successful film ‘The Greatest Showman’, it is a powerful anthem which inspires confidence, energy, and individuality. This upbeat and energising arrangement is written for a cappella SATB and encourages acting through song, good breath control, and sustained lines. The popular melody is shared across parts, giving each voice line an opportunity to utilise a cappella accompaniment skills as well as a moment to deliver the catchy tune itself. Simple vocal percussion is also used in the bass part to give an extra kick to the song. This arrangement is ideal for high school choirs, chamber choirs, or a cappella groups interested in exploring a song which is both fun to perform and great to listen to as an audience member. The song works equally well as a bold opener, encore or as part of a film music or musical theatre set or theme.
