De Griekse mythologie vertelt ons hoe de held Theseus het monster Minotauros doodde, dank zij de draad van Ariadne uit het labyrinth van Knossos ontsnapte en nadien de koningin van de Amazones huwde. Dit verhaal inspireerde de jonge Nederlandse componist Alex Poelman (Arnhem, 1981) tot een kort maar zeer origineel en boeiend werk voor harmonieorkest.

The Greek mythology relates us how the young hero Theseus kills the monster Minotaur, escapes from the Knossos labyrinth thanks to Ariadne's thread and finally marries the Queen of the Amazons. This story inspired the young Dutch composer Alex Poelman (Arnhem, 1981) to write a rather short but very original and fascinating work for symphonic band.

La mythologie grecque nous raconte comment le jeune héros Thésée tue le monstre Minotaure, échappe du Labyrinthe de Cnossos et finalement épouse la reine des Amazones. Cette épopée a inspiré le jeune compositeur néerlandais Alex Poelman (Arnhem, 1981) pour écrire cette courte, mais très originale et captivante composition pour orchestre d'harmonie.

Die griechische Mytholgie erzählt wie der Helde Theseus das Ungeheuer Minotauros tötete, dank des Ariadnefadens aus dem Labyrinth von Knossos entkam und nachher Antiope, die Königin der Amazonen, heiratete. Diese Geschichte inspirierte den jungen niederländischen Komponisten Alex Poelman (Arnhem, 1981) zur Komposition dieses kurzen aber ganz originellen und fesselnden Werkes für Sinfonisches Blasorchester.
