Composed by Thomas Campbell, and an "early American melody" (It's a medley). Arranged by G. R. Adkison. Christian,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. Gary Ray Adkison #2034675. Published by Gary Ray Adkison (A0.953707).
"There Is a Fountain of Amazing Love" is a 58 measure, 4-5 octave handbell choir arrangement that is a medley of the Christian hymns: "There is a Fountain", and "And Can It Be?" ("Amazing Love, How Can It Be?"). It is scored for OPTIONAL Handchimes Eb4 through D6. Handbells can be substituted for the handchimes. It stats reverentially with the chimes playing "There Is a Fountain". Rich chords are used here. The bells play fills. Obviously, all notes *can* be played by bells; chimes are optional. The bells take over at the chorus, which is a bit faster, and the chords become more straight-forward. After the modulation into "And Can it Be", The pace picks up, again. There are occasional descant lines in all sections of the medley. Melody doubling (tripling) is occasionally used in the chorus of "And Can it Be". That chorus is then repeated at double forte. The very last part is triple forte, for a majestic ending. The audio clip provided is in a piano voice (patch), but otherwise suffices to demonstrate how the arrangement is generally meant to sound. This is probably a level 2 arrangement.
