You see nothing, but you hear: "We are traveling thru this cold wint'ry night; our desert ships bearing presents for a King."

The Wise Men's Carol
The Wise Men's Carol has a rhythmic drive to it that reminded me of Harry Simeone's arrangement of the Carol of the Drum with vocal drum beats that remind one of camels approaching. While there are some interesting twists and turns between minor and major, and good melody and harmonic contrast, the piece is accessible in both difficulty and tessitura to even a small choir, and provides good opportunity to teach singers how to fine tune. The accompaniment is a bit sparse, but lends itself to at least a good cellist, perhaps tinkling bells (the text refers to them), even some middle eastern sounding percussion. This is a charming addition to Epiphany and Christmas choral repertoire.

Uplifting!
Think this is a delightfully uplifting carol,and can quite see why it has been so popular over the years. Full of momentum, and great fun to sing. Wonderful!
