The Weaveris a cantata and concert work in the style of works by Honeggar, Copeland, or Bernstein which presents the age-old gospel story in a fresh way with folk-like qualities and melodies. God is pictured as a weaver, Who, in the beginning, sews the tapestry of the universe together. With the entrance of sin into the world, human beings take the thread and break it, making their own designs which bring about an estrangement from God. The coming of Christ gives all a chance to reconnect the threads of the tapestry. Performance suggestions are included with options to simplify the work if desired, making it accessible to a wide variety of church choirs in addition to collegiate, community, and professional choirs. The work received a Carnegie Hall performance in 2022. 40 minutes.

Recorded by The Christ Community Church (CCC) Sanctuary Choir of Zion, IL and the Zion Chamber Orchestra, both under the direction of Ron Arden. Also with the Carthage College Choir, Gregory Berg, conductor.
