The Waltz of The Snow details a young man lost in a blizzard as the snowflakes around him come to life in a wickedly evil fashion and begin to dance. They entrap him in a feeling of curiosity and by the end of the piece he is frozen and lost to the storm. The beginning opens slowly and timidly, like how the young man feels in the bitter cold. Then the piece picks up speed, showcasing the suddenness of the snowflakes and they begin to dance around him. The middle section, with slured eighth notes in the second violins, is the final moment before the young man realizes what is happening. Before he can stop them, of course, the piece concludes with a big button.
