The Uncreated Eros SSSSAATBBBB by John Tavener 4-Part - Sheet Music

By John Tavener

A new typeset edition of John Tavener's thirteen-part work for mixed voices written in 1988. The composer writes: “The Uncreated Eros is an attempt in musical notes to recreate our Paradisial nature. The text, which is taken from the Book of Genesis, recounts the creation of Eve from one of Adam's ribs. When Adam and Eve first walked in Paradise, they were innocent. They were indeed as God intended us to be, and through Christ, our union with God is still a possibility here and now. The work should be sung in a building with a large acoustic, from the highest available gallery (such as the Whispering Gallery in St Paul's Cathedral), at the threshold of audibility and completely unseen.”
