The Unclouded Day Low Voice - Digital Sheet Music

Originally composed by Josiah Kelley Atwood in 1885, "The Unclouded Day" is a traditional American folk hymn still popular in rural settings. This arrangement was written for my mother-in-law’s home going service after a long debilitation during which she longed to be home with Christ. This hymn was chosen both because it is a favorite of the rural Oklahoma family church where she grew up and because it depicts the glories of heaven, as seen from the perspective of the soul yearning for their eternal home, in fair-weather and springtime imagery. The music works well for male or female mid-range voices, covering a major ninth in range with easy leaps and phrasing. It is suitable for general worship services, Eastertide, funerals, and hymn festivals. This new setting maintains the gospel song spirit of the original hymn while adding fresh harmony and rhythmic variations to maintain interest throughout the four stanzas.Find more music and news at wheatmyermusic.com/ and www.facebook.com/WheatMyerMusic.
