This particular arrangement gives the traditional Irish melody to 1 flute while the other plays a fantasia type of obligato above and around the traditional Irish melody. There are also some beautiful solo fantasia sections which are such a delight.
This piece is tonal. It is however peppered by frequent modulations (tonal shifts) which are created via changing key
signatures creating a tonal fluidity. This piece which sounds tonal does not necessarily start and end in the same tonal area. A beautiful recital piece. Audiences will love it.
