The Season of Sun was commissioned by the Saitama Percussion Ensemble "Circle '90" in 2008. Vibraphone is featured prominently in the piece, inspired by a vibrant tropical city or a resort vacation. The warm wood sound of the marimba and the drum set with congas and brushes create an exotic atmosphere.
A Latin prelude brings the first theme, evoking the image of this exotic place, followed by a relaxed second theme, concluding with a reprise of the opening theme and a coda. This piece is suitable for a wide range of occasions such as concerts, competitions, salon concerts, and music appreciation classes, and will add a certain flair to your program.
