The Rainbow Connection by Kenny Ascher Piano Solo - Digital Sheet Music

By Paul Williams

This is a song I first heard on the Muppet Show with Debbie Harry duetting with Kermit (on banjo). I found it a beautiful song and it has taken me decades to finally do an arrangement but I hope it was worth the wait. It's in 3/4 Waltz time but I give it a slight country feel with hammer on/off techniques and it should be swung a little in that the quavers (1/8th notes) should/could be played as a tied triplet. It's a beautiful tune and goes through the bright key of A major and culminates in Bb major. I don't provide fingering, dynamics or pedaling symbols as I prefer to trust this kind of interpretation to the individual pianist. I like to present the notes as simply as I can. I do, however, include chord symbols which I feel are often the most important piece of information for the pianist trying to learn and/or memorise a piece. Also note this is a piano solo and doesn't contain notation for the other instruments features in my YouTube video. I always write my arrangements as a piano solo first so it will sound perfectly full as such.I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed arranging and recording it.
