THE MUSIC TREE series continues the development of complete musicianship by providing the beginner with delightful and varied repertoire. The pupil learns a variety of idioms encompassing folk, jazz, and pop. The creativity of the students is emphasized since they are given musical segments to rearrange, transpose, complete or to use as the basis for a new composition. Technical aspects are also addressed including greater facility, blocked intervals and chords, and more hands together playing. Guided training steps are used to encourage intelligent practice skills.

Exellent Series
I've used the Frances Clark series since it came out 30+ years ago. It has gone thru multiple revisions and updates, but still resonates with me as the best one out there. The other popular series is the Faber Piano Adventures series. I often get students from using this series and still feel that this one is better, primarily because it is more focused. Each unit is very clear as to what its objectives are, and the supporting material zeros in on those concepts while at the same time reviewing prior concepts.Students seem to enjoy the pieces. They are often challenging but manageable if the teacher is patient and encourage mastery. My students enter annual piano competitions and always do well both technically and musically. Can't ask for more.

A Great Series!
I love teaching from The Music Tree series! Level 2A introduces 5 finger patterns, 8th notes, dotted quarter notes, tonic, dominant, and expands a students range up to High C and down to Low C. In my experience students seem to progress through this book quickly in comparison to Level 1. One of the first songs in the book is Happy Birthday, always a useful song for kids (and adults) to know how to play!
