The main reason why this piece is difficult is the speed!! The recommended performance speed for this piece is marked as quarter note = 150. But feel free to take it a little bit slower if needed.
The piece contains lots of challenges! The opening builds excitement with some tremelos and a passage of modulation. The vamp is so recognizable -- with a fun chord progression that sets the tone for what follows. The melody is introduced in a fun ragtime-style -- challenging octaves and left hand jumps here! The middle section is a very fun section -- it opens with a glissando and introduces hand-crossing to make it showy and challenging, while bringing out the melody. The repeat of the theme introduces some bluesy riffs. The finale brings the showstopper to a conclusion with some dynamics, tremelos, excitement and joy!
