The Moon Reflected In Twin Ponds was commissioned for the Dr. Norman Bethune Collegiate Concert Band, in Toronto, Canada. This school has a large Chinese population and it seemed fitting to write a work that spoke to the Chinese culture. This folksong has been used to create a work that utilizes voices, graphic notation, and Chinese percussion instruments in its realization.
