In 1983 Billy Joel released his 9th studio album, “An Innocent Man”. This concept album pays tribute to the popular music of Joel’s teenage years in the 50’s and 60’s. Side One, Track #3 of that album is “The Longest Time”, which pays homage to doo-wop groups such as The Teenagers. This song has become a time-less classic sung by barbershop quartets around the world.
Duration: 4 minutes
This arrangement for beautyshop quartet matches the original piece in length. It has been transposed up to C Major to better suit a female ensemble. Note that if no bass guitar is present, the Bass 2 (opt.) part can be sung in it’s place.
