In this arrangement, the instrumentation consists of two flutes, a B♭ clarinet, and a bass clarinet. While the overall difficulty is moderate, the B♭ clarinet part includes a few passages that may present a mild challenge for developing players.
Both the opening and closing sections should be performed freely, without a strict sense of tempo. The ending, in particular, should dissolve gradually—fading into silence as though the wind has carried the final notes away until they are no longer audible.
