phonetic russian with english trans - legible

This is at least an A- quality edition as far as clarity goes, and for non-readers of Cyrillic, probably the lack of the original Cyrillic texts will not be missed, the phonetically spelled russian (with good pronunciation map/explanation in appendix) being much more to the point for non-russian speakers. The white-black contrast, distance between choral part staffs, size of font/notes all make this highly readable even in less than optimal lighting. For better or for worse the accompanying chants are moved to an appendix rather than kept right with the choral parts. An appendix also shows variations for different occasions, and another explains policies of fidelity to the original. Only reason I say A- instead of A++ is this edition has one of those bindings that will not stay open until you violate it in some gruesome way... I wish everyone would publish music-stand music in the ring-spiral type binding !

Very serviceable

Clear, easy to follow notation. If you read Cyrillic, though, you will want something else, as there is phonetic and English lyrics only.
