The Lion Sleeps Tonight is gebaseerd op de in 1939 geschreven Afrikaanse melodie ‘Mbube'. Deze melodie werd in vele uitvoeringen en variaties populair in Europa, o.a. in de bekende musical ‘Lion King'. In voorliggend arrangement is aan het eind een grapje verwerkt: De muzikanten verlaten een voor een het podium, alleen de bassist blijft achter, zich afvragend waar de rest is gebleven……Also available for strings!
The Lion Sleeps Tonight is based on the African melody ‘Mbube', written in 1939. This melody can be heard in many various different forms all over Europe, for example in the popular musical ‘The Lion King'. In this arrangement a joke has been included. One by one, the musicians leave the stage, leaving the bass player alone, wondering where his colleagues have gone…….Also available for strings!
Le Lion Dors Ce Soir est basé sur une mélodie africaine intitulée ‘Mbube', composée en 1939. Cette mélodie peut être entendue à travers toute l'Europe sous différentes formes, comme par exemple dans la célèbre comédie musicale ‘Le Roi Lion ‘. Cet arrangement se termine par un effet comique. En effet, les musiciens quittent la scène un par un en laissant seul le bassiste qui se demande où ses collègue sont passés…Also available for strings!

Diese Melodie wurde in ganz Europa in verschiedensten Ausführungen beliebt, zum Beispiel im populären Musical ‘Der König der Löwen'. Im vorliegenden Arrangement ist am Ende ein Scherz eingebaut: Die Musiker verlassen nach einander die Bühne, nur der Bassist bleibt sitzen und vragt sich wo die Anderen geblieben sind….Also available for strings!
