American country artist Tracy Byrd recorded "Keeper of the Stars" in 1995, and a year after its release it was named Song of the Year by the Academy of Country Music. It is a ballad in which the singer gives credit to a third party for bringing him and the love of his life together. (That third party is the Keeper of the Stars up above.) In this String Trio arrangement, the 1st Violin carries the melody throughout, until the very ending: the Coda where the Cello gets the last word.
