The Independent Soloist is a classroom-tested collection of unaccompanied solos. These solos were originally written for the composer’s own students during several years of classroom teaching.
Each piece was designed to help developing musicians experience success while strengthening fundamental musical skills. The current editions have been fully revised and professionally engraved for publication.

Synchronized Solos Across Instruments
Each instrument edition contains the same solos written in appropriate transpositions.

• coach phrasing, articulation, and musical style across the ensemble
Students perform individually, but teachers can efficiently teach the music in a group setting.

• Moderate range requirements appropriate for first- and second-year players
